WVU Medicine is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at St. Joseph's Hospital in Buckhannon, West Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who desires the low stress of rural life yet demands high-quality care for his/her patients and community members. As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care in the Emergency Department. This includes assessing and diagnosing patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and performing clinical procedures as needed. You will also manage trauma and critical care patients, supervise and teach medical students and residents, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. A typical day involves a mix of patient encounters, administrative tasks, and educational activities.

Qualified applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or its foreign equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license. Candidates must have completed an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program and be board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine.
Responsibilities include providing direct patient care in the Emergency Department, assessing and diagnosing patients, developing and implementing treatment plans, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, performing clinical procedures, managing trauma and critical care patients, supervising and teaching medical students and residents, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
