The core duties include promoting breastfeeding advocacy, providing parent education, offering staff education, assessing the breastfeeding dyad, developing and implementing care plans, consulting with healthcare providers, documenting patient care, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and staying current with lactation research and best practices.
Support includes one-on-one consultations, prenatal classes, assistance with breastfeeding difficulties, and collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
