The essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Surgical Technology Program, surgical technologist certification, and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
While not required, one (1) year of prior scrub experience is preferred.
The physical requirements include prolonged periods of standing and walking, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push/pull heavy loaded carts up to 200 lbs, and possess visual, hearing, and oral acuity along with manual dexterity and technical ability. The ability to wear lead for extended periods of time is also required.
The working environment is in an operating room setting, where you may be exposed to communicable diseases.
Essential skills include the ability to follow strict sterile technique, set up the operating room with instruments and supplies, and effectively communicate and collaborate with the surgical team.
