- Deliver medication via Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) or dry powder inhaler
- Measure peak flow, simple spirometry, and pulse oximetry
- Administer airway clearance devices or techniques including therapy vest, chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, suctioning via artificial airway, and positive expiratory pressure therapies
- Communicate appropriately and effectively with other members of the healthcare team regarding all aspects of patient care
- Provide assistance with patient and family/caregiver education along with other members of the healthcare team
- Monitor patient response to respiratory therapy treatments
- Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic health record
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to respiratory therapy
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
