You will start your shift by receiving report from the previous nurse and reviewing patient charts. You will then assess each patient, monitor their vital signs, and administer medications as ordered. Throughout the day, you will provide ongoing care and monitoring, responding to any changes in patient condition. You will also educate patients and families on post-operative care and answer any questions they may have.
