The minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Cytotechnology, Histotechnology (Medical Laboratory Science) or related field OR an Associate’s Degree in Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Technology or related field, current licensure as required by the state of West Virginia (Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Cytotechnologist, or Histotechnologist), and four years of experience as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Histotechnologist, or Cytotechnologist.
Preferred qualifications include national certifications through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Cytotechnologist (CT), or Histotechnologist (HTL).
