  • Participate in education and in-service opportunities to maintain and enhance knowledge of cardiovascular imaging techniques and protocols.
  • Act as a preceptor by on-boarding new sonographers with department orientation, in-service training, and educational resources.
  • Provide preliminary reports on studies performed in a timely manner and review preliminary reports with physicians to ensure accurate interpretation.
  • Follow and implement echo protocols and policies to standardize procedures and ensure consistent quality of care.
  • Serve as a preceptor to students as appropriate, offering guidance and support during their clinical rotations.
  • Serve as an educational resource for students rotating in the lab and potentially as a resource lecturer in the Cardiovascular Ultrasound school if necessary.
  • Participate in the training of Cardiovascular ultrasound techniques and procedures, contributing to the development of future sonographers.
  • Monitor equipment and supplies, reporting any malfunctions or shortages to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and technicians, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cardiovascular imaging services.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new protocols and procedures to improve patient outcomes.
  • Stay current with advancements in cardiovascular imaging technology and techniques through continuing education and professional development.
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
