The minimum qualifications include current licensure as a Radiation Therapist through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board, Board Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy, certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire date, and five (5) years of clinical experience as a radiation therapist.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare field, seven (7) years of experience as a radiation therapist, knowledge of Varian linear accelerators (Clinac iX, Trilogy, TrueBeam) and ARIA Oncology Information System, and previous experience in a leadership role or senior radiation therapist within a radiation oncology department.
Key responsibilities include administering radiation therapy, performing simulations and localizations, coordinating the activities of staff therapists, leading the team in developing new techniques, managing triage and scheduling, training and mentoring students and staff, and maintaining quality control.
