The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, graduation from a Medical Assistant Program OR one (1) year of clinical experience, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
Preferred qualifications include completion of healthcare education coursework and one (1) year of healthcare experience.
This position requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly. You must also be able to bend, stoop, reach, rotate, stand, and walk for 8-12 hour shifts.
The working environment involves working closely with others, working protracted or irregular hours, working around biohazards and infectious diseases, and working with hands in water. You may also be required to travel between facilities.
You must have the ability to use and care for all equipment, including printers, embossers, and computers. You must also be able to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
Core duties and responsibilities include greeting and escorting patients, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams and procedures, scheduling appointments, educating patients, maintaining quality control testing logs, and assisting with office administrative tasks.
