As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing basic nursing skills, preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow. You will also handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
Your day will start with preparing the pediatric exam rooms, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and welcoming for our young patients. You'll greet families with a warm and friendly demeanor, taking vital signs and gathering important medical information to prepare the child for their appointment with the physician.
Throughout the day, you'll assist the pediatricians with examinations and procedures, providing comfort and support to the children and their parents. You'll administer vaccinations, perform basic lab tests, and document all relevant information in the electronic health record (EHR).
In addition to clinical duties, you'll also handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient referrals. You'll ensure that all patient records are accurate and up-to-date, and you'll maintain a clean and organized work environment.

The minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, graduation from a Medical Assistant Program OR one year of clinical experience, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
While not required, completion of healthcare education coursework and one year of healthcare experience are preferred.
The typical working hours are 8-12 hour shifts, which may include working protracted or irregular hours.
The position requires medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly. It also requires the ability to bend, stoop, reach, and be capable of normal rotation, standing, and walking for an 8-12 hour shift.
The working environment involves working closely with others, working protracted or irregular hours, working around biohazards and infectious diseases, working with hands in water, and may require travel between facilities.
The role requires the ability to use and care for all equipment including printers, embossers, and computers, and the ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
