The estimated salary range for a Medical Laboratory Scientist in South Charleston, WV is $55,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The minimum qualifications include current licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Trainee license in West Virginia (if applicable) and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Science OR a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science. Alternatively, 30 or more years of previous experience concurrent with CLIA grandfathered exception may be considered.
Certification as a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Scientist by ASCP or AMT is preferred but not always required.
Key responsibilities include processing and analyzing clinical laboratory samples, performing quality control procedures, maintaining laboratory instruments, and communicating test results to healthcare professionals.
You will be performing a wide range of laboratory tests, including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and immunology assays.
