You must possess current licensure as required by the West Virginia state board for Medical Laboratory Scientists or Trainees. Additionally, you need a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Science OR a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science.
Certification as a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is preferred.
Working hours may vary depending on the department and shift. WVU Medicine offers a variety of shifts, including day, evening, and night shifts, as well as weekend and holiday rotations.
