- Communicate with patients or caregivers to determine medication needs, medication possession, and schedule delivery, pick-up, or shipment of medication.
- Accurately prepare and/or deliver controlled substances and maintain all necessary records according to regulations.
- Take inventory of patient-care area medication supplies, replacing outdated or deteriorated medications.
- Replace depleted inventory in a timely manner.
- Accurately prepare non-intravenous medications, including oral solutions/suspensions for pediatric patients.
- Label parenteral/prescription products appropriately and accurately.
- Perform arithmetic calculations for usual dosage determinations required in medication and solution preparation.
