The minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent clinical experience, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. A state criminal background check and federal background check (if applicable) are also required.
Registration or certification as a medical assistant is preferred but not required.
The core duties include providing support to medical staff, administering medications, performing tests, scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and assisting patients and families.
