The minimum qualification is a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification (CPT) is preferred but not required.
Six months of phlebotomy experience is preferred.
The job requires strength and stamina, including lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs. You must also be able to bend, stoop, reach, and stand for extended periods.
You may be required to travel between facilities/buildings and work various shifts based on departmental needs. You may also have unsupervised access to restricted areas containing medications, supplies, and patient confidential information.
The required skills include the ability to use a computer keyboard, monitor, mouse, and calculator, as well as computer software (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). You must also be able to use fax machines, printers, and other office equipment.
The main responsibilities include performing blood and non-blood specimen collection, labeling specimens, operating laboratory equipment, communicating with patients and staff, performing clerical duties, collecting drug screens, and transporting specimens between facilities.
The shift schedule may vary based on departmental needs.
This position is non-exempt.
