WVU Medicine Professional Coding Auditor-Educator (Remote)

Role Overview

WVU Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Coding Auditor-Educator to join our dynamic team. This remote position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our coding practices, directly impacting revenue cycle efficiency and the quality of patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for educating and training our coding staff, conducting comprehensive audits, and providing ongoing feedback to enhance their coding expertise. This position requires a deep understanding of coding classifications, including ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT, as well as knowledge of MS-DRG, HCC, and APR-DRG assignment. The Professional Coding Auditor-Educator will also serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to coders, clinical documentation improvement specialists, providers, and revenue cycle staff.

A Day in the Life

As a Professional Coding Auditor-Educator, your day will be varied and engaging. You might start by reviewing recent coding audits, identifying areas for improvement, and developing targeted training materials. Next, you could lead a virtual training session for coding staff, covering new coding guidelines or addressing common coding errors.
