  • Instruct patients in proper breathing techniques including incentive spirometry, purse-lip breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, and splinting breathing.
  • Draw blood samples and analyze them for arterial blood gases.
  • Respond to code calls throughout the hospital and administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Monitor patients' respiratory condition daily and record data in progress reports.
  • Maintain proper operation of respiratory equipment (nebulizers, ventilators, mist inhalation equipment).
