  • Following established plans of patient care to ensure consistent and effective support.
  • Assisting with the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Implementing patient safety measures, including securing patients for transport and assisting with positioning.
  • Collecting and recording vital signs as instructed by registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, providing accurate data for patient monitoring.
  • Providing measures to meet patients' comfort needs, enhancing their overall well-being.
  • Collecting and preparing specimens according to policy and procedure, aiding in accurate diagnoses.
  • Administering care and treatments for patients as instructed by the Registered Nurse, including but not limited to weighing patients, administering enemas, providing activities of daily living/restorative care, performing perineal care, catheter care, oral hygiene, applying hot or cold compresses, straining urine, obtaining temperature, pulse, and respirations, obtaining intake and output, ambulating patients, turning and positioning patients maintaining proper body alignment, providing sitz baths, pre‑operative care, post‑operative care, performs post‑mortum care, applying assistive devices, braces and equipment, restraint ­­­application and the identifications of restraint alternatives.
  • Performing basic routine duties, including distributing fresh water, disposing of soiled linen, and maintaining a clean and orderly unit.
  • Maintaining and stocking unit supplies to ensure availability of necessary items.
  • Practicing clean and sterile technique in the delivery of patient care, adhering to body substance isolation protocols.
  • Maintaining awareness of the location of equipment and supplies on the nursing unit, ensuring efficient access.
  • Documenting patient care activities accurately and timely in the electronic health record.
  • Observing patients for any changes in condition and reporting them to the supervising nurse promptly.
  • Responding to patient calls and requests in a timely and compassionate manner.
