As a Sonographer at WVU Medicine Camden Clark MOB B Obgyn Garfield, you will play a crucial role in providing diagnostic imaging services to our patients. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound imaging/therapeutic services and associated patient care that support the Radiology Department's mission to provide diagnostic information for the subsequent treatment of patients. This position requires a high degree of technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Your day will begin with a review of the patient schedule and any specific instructions from the sonologist or referring physician. You will then prepare the ultrasound room and equipment for the day's procedures. As patients arrive, you will greet them, explain the procedure, and answer any questions they may have.
Throughout the day, you will perform a variety of sonographic examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular studies. You will use your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain high-quality images that accurately depict the patient's condition. You will also be responsible for documenting your findings in the patient's electronic medical record.
In addition to performing sonographic examinations, you will also assist with other tasks as needed, such as scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and train sonography students.
