  • Greeting patients courteously and assisting them in preparing for transport
  • Monitoring patient's monitoring and invasive devices during transport
  • Intervening in emergency situations to ensure patient safety
  • Transporting patients with oxygen, including handling and storage
  • Observing and reporting patient concerns or changes in condition to the RN
  • Promptly communicating patient return to the RN
  • Disinfecting wheelchairs and stretchers after each use
  • Assisting with the transport of patients and their possessions to discharge vehicles upon discharge
  • Transporting patients and items to and from all areas of the WVUH Campus in a safe and timely manner
  • Using the patient transport dispatching system according to departmental guidelines
  • Maintaining proper oxygen tank levels on each unit daily
  • Positioning wheelchairs and stretchers back to the place of origin
