The minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Surgical Technology Program, surgical technologist certification, and certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
One year of prior scrub experience is preferred but not required.
The physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, lift up to 40 pounds, push/pull heavy loaded carts, and possess visual, hearing, and oral acuity, along with manual dexterity and technical ability.
The work environment is typically in an operating room setting and may involve exposure to communicable diseases.
Important skills include the ability to follow strict sterile technique, set up operating rooms, communicate effectively, and work well in a team.
