The minimum qualifications include current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), completion of a Surgical Technology program, completion of a Registered Nurse (RN) program, or completion of a summer surgical tech extern program OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and two (2) years of previous scrub experience. You must also obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

The core duties and responsibilities include providing intraoperative care, maintaining a sterile field, performing counts, assisting with gowning and gloving, passing instruments, assisting with patient positioning, preparing supplies and equipment, and assisting with sterilization and maintenance of sterile supplies.
The physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, lift up to 40 pounds, push/pull heavy loaded carts up to 200 lbs, and possess visual, hearing, and oral acuity along with manual dexterity and technical ability.
