The Workflow Zone at Zapier sits at the epicenter of automation innovation, especially as AI transforms how people build and use workflows. As Sr. Manager, Product Design, you'll manage 3 talented designers and partner directly with product and engineering leadership. This net-new role supports Zapier's explosive growth and reports to Mindy Wagner, Sr. Manager of Product Design.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead a team of 3 product designers delivering exceptional experiences for the Zap Editor and automation building blocks.
2. Define and execute design strategy aligned with product vision and business goals.
3. Partner cross-functionally with PMs, engineers, and executives to shape workflow experiences.
4. Mentor designers through 1:1s, design reviews, and career growth opportunities.
5. Drive end-to-end design process from research through prototyping and iteration.
6. Ensure technical feasibility by deeply understanding system architecture and constraints.
7. Champion design systems, accessibility, and performance across all deliverables.
8. Lead team through product transformations while maintaining morale and quality.
9. Conduct user research with builders and power users to inform design decisions.
10. Measure design impact through qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics.
11. Present design work to stakeholders and facilitate design critiques.
12. Foster innovation culture within the Workflow Zone design team.
13. Collaborate on roadmap planning and feature prioritization.

Qualifications

To succeed in this Senior Manager of Product Design role, you need:

• 8+ years product design experience, 3+ years managing teams on technical/builder products
• Portfolio showcasing complex workflow tools, dev platforms, or similar systems
• Systems thinking with technical depth to navigate complex ecosystems
• Proven transformation leadership through major product shifts
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering and product leadership
• Experience designing for non-technical builders and power users
• Fluency in Figma, prototyping tools, and design systems
• Comfort in remote, async environments (PST/MT/Central time zones)

Salary & Benefits
