Key Responsibilities

As a Sr. Software Engineer on the AI Tasks team, your day-to-day will include:

• Designing intuitive features for natural language task delegation and workflow orchestration using LLMs.
• Building robust backend services handling AI agent memory, reasoning chains, execution loops, and third-party integrations.
• Crafting polished frontend interfaces in React/TypeScript for real-time agent monitoring, intervention, and guidance.
• Collaborating cross-functionally to wire Zapier Agents into core orchestration infrastructure like AI by Zapier.
• Owning complete projects—from technical scoping and architecture through implementation, testing, and post-launch support.
• Enhancing developer productivity with superior DX, including SDKs, CLI tools, and comprehensive documentation.
• Implementing advanced observability: distributed tracing, custom metrics, alerting, and error analysis for AI systems.
• Optimizing CI/CD pipelines for rapid iteration on fast-moving AI products using Docker, Kubernetes, and GitHub Actions.
• Partnering with AI researchers to productionize cutting-edge patterns like tool-calling, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-agent collaboration.
