Role Overview

The Sr. Software Engineer, Enterprise Zone position spans multiple critical teams including Enterprise Response, Asset Management, and Insights. You'll be building systems that serve thousands of enterprise users across North, Central, and South America in a fully remote capacity. Our Enterprise Zone focuses on unlocking automation potential for organizations with hundreds or thousands of employees, delivering control, visibility, and confidence in their automation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sr. Software Engineer in Zapier's Enterprise Zone, your impact will be immediate and substantial. Here's what you'll be doing daily:

1. Lead critical incident responses and customer-impacting event resolution for our largest enterprise customers.
2. Work directly with enterprise customers to understand and solve their most pressing automation challenges.
3. Collaborate across engineering, product, and support organizations to deliver urgent, high-impact solutions.
4. Build internal tools and enhance core product features based on real customer feedback and usage patterns.
5. Architect and implement a new extensible platform for account and organization-level settings.
6. Develop declarative controls, VPC connections to on-premises data sources, and comprehensive AI guardrail instrumentation.
7. Design scalable backend architecture and APIs for asset cataloguing, ownership tracking, and security management.
8. Ensure system consistency, reliability, and performance at enterprise scale across multiple products and workspaces.
9. Innovate in high-demand customer areas that require coordination across multiple engineering teams.
10. Maintain system resilience and reliability during peak demand periods for mission-critical enterprise workflows.
11. Deliver core platform features that span organizational boundaries and enable new enterprise capabilities.
12. Contribute to platform APIs that make Zapier assets discoverable, governable, and portable across ecosystems.
13. Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical architecture discussions.

Qualifications

We're looking for engineers who thrive in complex, customer-focused environments. You should have:

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend focus
• Deep expertise in Node.js, Python, or similar backend technologies
• Proven track record building scalable APIs and microservices architectures
• Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching systems (Redis)
• Hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, preferably AWS
• Demonstrated incident response leadership and on-call experience
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers on technical solutions
• Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Understanding of VPC networking, security best practices, and compliance requirements
• Experience with AI/ML guardrails, monitoring, and ethical implementation
• Full stack experience with React/TypeScript highly desirable
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Salary & Benefits

Competitive Compensation: Total compensation for this senior role ranges from $180,000 - $250,000 USD annually, depending on experience and location within the Americas. This includes base salary, performance bonus, and equity in Zapier.
